Updates & FAQ List

By far the most frequent question being put to the FoSC committee at present is:
" Who is going to be accepted for Bathurst
2010 – all last year’s entrants, a new group, or a mix of both?”

Char
les Jardine - FoSC Event Director would like to respond on behalf of the FoSC committee as follows:

This is the most difficult question I am ever asked – because there are so many criteria we use to include entrants on the acceptance list and it is getting harder with more wanting to join into the fun of the event next Easter.
We have always selected entrants that fit in our style of meeting at Festival of Sporting Cars.
For example:

# drivers who compete for fun rather than winning-at-all-costs,
# drivers with the right sporting attitude to driving,
# drivers we know from experience at other FoSC meetings for NSW entrants,
# drivers not reported by other promoters,
# drivers in eligible categories or able to be fitted in another category,
# the order of receipt of the entry,  and finally
# to many other influences to list.

As you can now probably see, I can not give a simple answer to the question and we are doing everything to assist, such as trying to organize acceptances as early as possible to allow greater forward planning by our entrants.
For the "Mt. Panorama - The Way It Was" event over Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th April, it is possible to accept a limited number of "reserve entrants". In the past, these reserves have all managed to have a run on "the mountain" sometime over the Easter Weekend, and if not in the whole meeting, in a very substantial part of it - at a reduced cost of course. Many reserves were in fact "upgraded" to run the whole weekend in the place of a competitorthat was forced to withdraw before the meeting.
Please note that all "Reserves" will be required to have their own Dorian Timing Unit, and if this is hired, then the hire costs can not be refunded in part or whole.

We are trying to improve our acceptance process as well as maintain control over the enjoyment of the meeting with the right mix of entrants.
We hope you appreciate we are very conscious of the entrant position and are trying to improve all our systems every day.

DORIAN TIMING UNITS

It will be necessary to have a working Dorian Timer to compete at Mt. Panorama over the Easter weekend, INCLUDING the Six-Hour Mountain Relay on Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th April AND it MUST BE correctly attached to the vehicle before you enter the circuit for your Timed Practice Session, and of course for each of your events.

IF THERE IS MORE THAN ONE DRIVER FOR ANY CAR THEN EACH DRIVER MUST HAVE A DORIAN TIMING UNIT ALLOCATED AND REGISTERED FOR THEIR INDIVIDUAL USE.

Dorian Timing Units can be hired for the duration of the Easter weekend from GP Timers, BUT YOU MUST NOTIFY the Event Director Charles Jardine of your requirements, WHEN YOU SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY FORM.

GP TIMERS will only bring enough hire units to the circuit to supply those who have requested a hire unit via their entry form.

You DO NOT pay FoSC for your Dorian unit hire - Payment is made directly to GP TIMERS when you collect your unit.
Payment can be made by Cash, Cheque or Credit Card.

The Dorian Timing Units will be available for collection at the circuit from 8 am Friday 2nd April in Corporate Suite 13 - adjacent to the Race Admin Office.
